5 Reasons To Add Disposable Towels To Your Wash
Posted by Valerie Sweeney on Feb 3rd 2021
In the winter issue of "Northeast Carwasher", our very own Valerie Sweeney wrote an article about how disposable towels can play an integral role at your wash, especially during COVID. Here are 5 reasons why she recommends adding or expanding them at your wash:
Tip 1: Disposable towels help prolong the life of your terry and microfiber towels. They are an economical option costing between $.05 and $.15 per wipe depending on size, durability, packaging and thickness.
Tip 2: There are several non-woven wipe options available depending upon your application and preference. DRC is a great low-cost courtesy towel because they cost pennies a wipe. Spunlace wipers are lint free, making them great windshield towels, courtesy towels, or general shop rags in lube centers.
Tip 3: Using disposable wipers as courtesy towels helps prevent customers from "borrowing" your towels and "forgetting" to return them. Disposable wipers are a great alternative to prevent the sharing of towels during COVID, too.
Tip 4: In colder months, some carwashes choose to use hydroknits over microfibers on car windows to prevent streaking, since microfibers can sometimes semi-freeze in low temperatures.
Tip 5: To keep minimal contact during COVID, offering your customer a wet non-woven wiper to wipe off their dash is a great way to stay socially distant while still providing a personal touch. This system works especially well for washes where the customer stays in their vehicle.
